    but to me, what is called "personality disorders" is all too often the result of one's character defects and not a truly clinical problem, Cruz being a classic example, as far as I'm concerned.

      gets you further for predicting behaviors and identifying strengths and weaknesses. Psychiatrists and psychologists have studied the Personality Disorders in great detail, similar to the effort applied to the physiologically driven conditions such as schizophrenia and major depression.

      Moral appraisals that go with "character defects" can predict that bad behavior will be repeated. That's skimming the surface.
