  •  What's "sucky" about my single payer coverage? (0+ / 0-)

    No pre-existing conditions, no co-pays, no lifetime/annual max, no invoice.
    Most provinces - no insurance premium.
    No "in/out-network", no limitation on choice of family doctor (provided she/he is taking new patients).
    Nobody excluded (depending on immigration status, e.g. foreign students and "working holidays")

    BTW, U.S. governments spend more per capita on health care (Medicare, Medicaid, government/military) than Canadian governments (but don't cover most Americans).

    If we could cut spending by just 1% of GDP, that would save us over $150 billion per year. Cutting 7%, getting us in line with our peers in the developed world, would save over a $1 trillion per year.
