The most chilling scene in Cabaret for me was that fresh-faced blond youth rising in the biergarten yard to sing a pastoral song in a sweet tenor.  The assembled crowd begins to sing along and gradually the music morphs into a march as the camera pulls back to reveal the youth's brown shirt, red bandana and swastika emblazoned uniform.  By this time the entire crowd has joined in, stood at attention, hats over heart and tears in eyes.

These are the Bush Youth, storm troopers for Jesus.  They will soon be the main concern of the Department of Homeland Security.  Maybe all those concentration camps for gay Christian youth can be converted to deprogramming centers someday, where we can teach these young horrors something of American values and real humanity.  We will be a long time healing from the alliance between the Republican party and the Dominionist fanatics.

    Lies are the new truth.

The NSA was disproportionately staffed by Mormons. They made up probably 30-40% of the workers and yet are about 1% of the population.  Why? because they were actively recruited by the agency, because their squeaky clean lifestyles made them extremely easy to clear, up to the highest level of security clearences.

The Problem was, as the Agency quickly discovered, their extreme insularity and lack of exposure to other cultures and ways of life and generally  sheltered upbringing also made them piss-poor analysts.

We'll probably see this happen again with the CIA and others, and sooner or later they will fall on their faces,  But will it be before or after the recommend we invade Syria based on something they read in Revelations?
