  •  It's not socialism. (0+ / 0-)

A single payer health insurance is not socialism, its simply one giant non-profit insurance company for everybody and the premiums are paid through tax dollars. Healthcare services would still be delivered by our mostly privately-owned healthcare providers. Almost the entire population (except for the poorest of the poor and the disabled) would be paying taxes/premiums for single payer insurance. So to our friends at FOX News, it would NOT BE FREE HEALTHCARE!

The only way you could use the term "socialized medicine" is if you are talking about the National Health Service in the UK.

    •  I didn't say it was. (0+ / 0-)

What I said is "what they are referring to it as"--they being Teabaggers.

This all started with "what the Republicans did to language".

Sorry, I understood what you meant. Its just that it irritates me to hear the term "socialized medicine" thrown around by these goofy teabag people.

Think about it, you could actually make an economically conservative argument in favor of single payer because by removing health insurance from the workplace it would simplify the employee-employer relationship and it would make it easier to be self-employed.
