The GOP rulers KNOW they are screwed for 2014, and that there will be a Democrat-controlled house in 2015.  They will let the Democrats pass the immigration reform then and use THAT to try and rally their supporters in 2016... being able to say that they resisted the Democrats but were overwhelmed...and that the GOP should re-take control because the Democrats allowed 11 million illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship.  They will be able to avoid the issue and maintain their "purity" in the eye of their supporters.  Unfortunately for them and their plans, their supporters will be a minority fo a long time to come...

    •  I am worried about that scenario (0+ / 0-)

if Dems pass it in 2015, the Baggers will try to use it as a bludgeon for 2016 in the same way they leveraged Obamacare in 09-10.

    •  The Reps Would Split on This Vote (0+ / 0-)

If the Reps are in the House minority in 2015, many in the non-teabagger contingent will vote for a Democratic immigration bill, at least on final passage.  I think that because each of those representatives will know exactly what idiots led them into minority status.
