Pro-growth is shitty policy if the gains from economic growth go overwhelmingly to the capitalist class.  What good is is economic growth if the working class doesn't benefit from it?  This is just another name for trickled down, which as many people point out is really pissing on the working class from on high.

Further, there isn't any link between economic growth and cutting Social Security benefits.  Anyone alluding to such a causal relationship must provide evidence supporting that conclusion.

If I was a communist, rich men would fear me...And the opposite applies. The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles.

I think the evidence is that cutting those earned benefits and redistributing the money to the wealthiest 1% will actually reduce economic growth.  Social Security recipients will spend their monthly allotments, and the 1% will not.  Instead it is going to some offshore tax haven - guess what the multiplier for that is.  Of course, the thing our overlords keep in mind is that 'shared sacrifice' will increase the wealth of the 1%, which is what they care about.  I think Sperling knows this, which brings his advocacy from infuriating to inexcusable.
