every time I hear about or visit Florida.  It used to be such a great place until Rick Scott took over.  It's amazing how downhill a place can go in such a short time.

What's amazing is the number of climate deniers down there when it's right in front of their face.  The water people all see it;  but, are not able to act on it because of the Tea Party noose down there.

I really feel like I'm on planet ignorance when I have to talk to people who are so addicted to Rush Limbaugh and Faux News.

It's just amazing that people are not investing in Solar for their homes down there given that they have to pay $300-$400 per month to air condition a small home.

Anyhow, Crist may be a new Democrat;  but, I can't believe that he could be any worse than Rick Scott.  His running mate, former Lt Gov Carroll, resigned earlier this year, the day after being questioned about a huge internet gambling/racketeering scheme disguised as a veterans charity.

    •  At least we were able to kill Scott's plan... (4+ / 0-)

back in 2011 for a private/government partnership (with Jack Nicklaus) to build a trail of golf courses throughout the state... ALL LOCATED IN STATE PARKS.

True, I swear. But if you don't believe me, there's always the Tampa Bay Times. (a very conservative rag)

Golf courses in state parks 'the worst idea in history'

But as long as nutbags are in charge of Florida, my attitude is much like that of my friends raising teenagers:

Try, when you can, to prevent permanent damage. This brings us to Senate Bill 1846 and House Bill 1239, which would require the state to contract to build a series of golf courses…

      In Florida's state parks.

Not just any golf courses, mind you. They would be designed by the legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, a Floridian and an accomplished course designer.

Now, THAT'S gotta contribute A LOT to the "worst governor in America" debate.

      •  The Times is not a conservative rag (3+ / 0-)

Maybe you are confusing it with the Tampa Tribune?  The Times is the more liberal counter to the conservative Tribune (both in editorials as well as in the selection of nationally syndicated commentaries they choose to print.)

        •  I have to admit I rarely read either one but... (0+ / 0-)

read the editorial yourself @ the link provided in my prior comment.

The Times' columnist Howard Troxler is certainly no liberal in any way, shape or form.

          •  Agree on Troxler, who appears to be libertarian (1+ / 0-)

with equal disdain for both parties.

However, on the whole the Times is liberal in its leanings, typically reliably endorsing Democrats for President, Senate, Congress, etc. and featuring more liberal columnists on a regular basis than their conservative counterparts (i.e. Eugene Robinson, Paul Krugman, Hersh, Clift, Dowd, Rich, Dionne, Corn, etc.)      The Tribune is the counter opposite, routinely endorsing conservatives for President, Senate, Congress, and primarily featuring syndicated commentators the likes of Krauthammer, Malkin, Sowell, Coulter, et al.

      •  Markthshark, hillarious about the golf course idea (0+ / 0-)

I had never heard that.  But, WOW.
