(I cannot remember their designation) but Ted Cruz's dad is one of their leading lights.  Their belief is that all the world's riches will be redistributed to the "true" Christians in the End Days and we are already beginning to see the beginning of this transfer of wealth
(warning: this is a Benny Hinn site on the wealth transfer idea:
    http://www.bennyhinn.org/... )

There are some other sites discussing his beliefs

Is part of the Word of Faith movement. He's one of the big offenders in that movement and one of the biggest not prophets there is. ( I use that term because he insists on calling himself a "prophet" when not one of his "prophecies" has come true. According to the Bible if you're wrong even once then you can't call yourself a prophet. Hence not-prophet)

Here's a good site about his various little problematic areas:

When I started looking deeper into the Word of Faith stuff that site was a Godsend.

But I also have major issues with someone who tries to call down a curse on anyone who criticizes him. Which he did. Among other things.

All public record by the way. A lot of it on YouTube. Heck the link above covers most of it just be aware that the criticizing site is a Christian one.

your enemies is expected behavior.  I think it was Ray Comfort this week who declared global warming to be the result of abortion being legal.  Then we have Robertson who claims to be able to regrow limbs and resurrect the dead, only he won't do it because people have hurt his feelings making fun of him.

In India years ago, fakirs were supposed to be able to do miracles; in the US today, we have fakers doing the miracles

            •  Well to be fair those fakirs were on to something (0+ / 0-)

with their cheek spears and such though there was nothing supernatural about it.  More like an exploitable glitch in their sympathetic nervous system (which can be quite addictive, btw).  And yes, that is something I have personal experience with (just ask our very own Alexandra Lynch) though not quite to that extreme.

In fact, the next time Molly Shrine (who I know) or Meagan Machine (who I don't) are performing in your area you can ask them yourself as both of them routinely do things very similar to those fakirs (as in going up on stage and sticking 6 inch spinal needles through their face, sometimes while hanging from shark hooks).

You have watched Faux News, now lose 2d10 SAN.
