  •  Let's hear it for one of my oldest and fondest (8+ / 0-)

memories of L.A. landmarks: The La Brea Tar Pits.

We went there as kids on field trips on buses from L.A. schools and I loved every blinking nanosecond of it.

I used to look out of my window onto La Brea Avenue (a local namesake) and imagine giant ground sloths and sabre-tooth
tigers roaming about. I loved the Charles R. Knight mural of the Pits in the L.A. County Museum of Natural History. So, so many good, happy memories of my childhood!
