    by the concept of selling a vote and yet analyzing the proposed transaction is kind of intriguing. Is selling your vote for $5 a better deal than voting it? Does the calculation change if you think everyone does it or if you think no one does it? It comes back strongly to the feeling that a single vote doesn't matter... and oddly enough, under both scenarios... still true!

    In some US elections, there is more than $5 per vote spent - but it goes to media, mailers, etc. Sometimes I've wondered if it might not be more effective in terms of vote results to donate that $5 per vote to a high profile local non-profit or local schools.

    I don't have a personally satisfying and self-consistent reaction to campaign finance yet.
