wonderful pieces of art. (I like quilt number 6 a lot). Also I love the quilt that Pam from Calif showed, "Spirit".

I need to be reminded when there is one quilt show near Washington DC. Would love to see them for real.

Ah, I bookmarked Pam's link and will try to go the Mid-Atlantik quilt festival. That would be a first for me. I grew into loving this art and craft. Thanks for those  diaries that display these quilts so beautifully.

I have developed an appreciation for the art quilting.  I always thought of quilts as blankets, and didn't know why my mother cried so hard when I got red lipstick on her blue and white wedding quilt when I was 3 or 4 years old.

I never saw that quilt again, but I think I may have permanently stained it, so she probably couldn't bear to see it.  I never heard the story of who made it for her; I should see if my dad knows anything.  At that time it would have been a hand stitched quilt I think, and something precious and rare.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. & http://www.dailykos.com/blog/Okiciyap

Wear comfy shoes. I pack a bottled water & light snack in my hand bag. They usually have food available but it can be expensive.

Lots of beautiful quilts, vendors & merchants are at Quilt Shows.  Bring some $ to go shopping for fabric, and other types of sewing/quilt related products. Have fun.
