  •  why bother with different online calculators? (10+ / 0-)
but I can't seem to get a straight answer on whether or not we would qualify for a subsidy. All of the information says that, based on our income and family size, we should. But every time I put the info into the various online calculators, it comes back as no subsidy.
Why don't you just sign up and get the accurate information since you know your policy is being canceled?

your area. An actual person to ask questions about and see what the issue is with subsidy for you.

It might also be worthwhile to see if your old Ins. Co. has policies on the exchange and look at them. If this cancellation is not one which means they are withdrawing insurance from your area entirely,as Aetna seems to be doing, they may have something pretty close that is on the exchange and then you're in business.

Frankly, if I were them, I would have somethng extremely close on the exchange for those whose policies I have just cancelled because they are nonconforming in some manner rather than the company simply pulling out of your market entirely. . In this market where there are a finite if large number of customers, nobody sensible wants or should want to spit in the faces of previously contented ones.
