    Already listed? I'll add that Obama used the stimulus and auto bailout to make changes to America's energy and transportation infrastructure that well still be benefitting from 20 years from now. Clinton's status quo energy policy makes him the Neville chamberlain of the climate crisis.

      I guess you use a different definition of infrastructure than everyone else?

      we're installing wind and solar energy at a decent rate, but the national energy grid is the same dumb grid. where is the improvement to that infrastructure?

      the auto bailout-- no clue as to what you refer to here. yes, the bailout assisted clunky GM to stay in business and continue to make cars and trucks-- but what has this to do with the roads and bridges (the infrastructure) we drive our vehicles on?? nothing.

      please read the recent report indicating we now have 65,000 structurally deficient bridges in our nation. the auto bailout funded repair/replacement of these bridges?

        that I'm at a computer rather than a phone I can respond more precisely.

        The stimulus made significant investments in energy infrastructure including efficiency projects and grid improvements. It also included funding for road and bridge projects, but more significantly in terms of climate change, made a large investment in high speed rail infrastructure. We need to invest more in alternative transportation infrastructure rather than emphasizing the roadbuilder money-pit.

        In the process of approving the auto bailout, Obama got auto makers to agree to new tailpipe emissions standards and electric/hybrid vehicle targets that will significantly reduce oil consumption for years to come.

        These are lasting accomplishments that will benefit everyone long after Obama leaves office. Obama did more to combat climate change in his first six months than Clinton did in 8 years combined.

          I need links please.

          links proving there are significant grid replacement/improvement projects happening right now-- not "planned" for ten years from now.

          "High speed rail". Nope; you have little to no proof this is happening. and again, the definition has been totally dumbed down.

          I need a link proving there's actual high speed rail (250mph and above like France's TGV) being built anywhere here in the U.S..

          what we are building in a very limited way is more accurately called "rapid rail"; 80-120mph (maybe). the example being the line planned between Chicago and St. Louis is slated to go up to 120mph, but this is not the average speed. you can't even remotely compare this turtle slow speed to rail in Japan and France, even China is more serious about their high speed rail.

          BTW, most if not all of these projects are on shared rail with freight trains-- with freighters taking precedent. this is bullcrap. I've ridden Amtrak between Chicago and points east in Michigan.. the train had to pull over on a side track and let a freight train pass. this is "high speed" rail?

          No, it's not. it's not even close. When I rode the Eurostar from London to Paris a few years ago, there was no bullcrap pulling over to get out of the way for a freight train.

            None of this is obscure or hard to find. You can google it just as well as I can.

            I'm not sure why you're so emotionally invested in believing the stimulus didn't fund anything, but I provided you the examples of infrastructure improvements you asked for.

            Incidentally, I ride the St. Louis - Chicago Amtrak route often. Part of the point of the upgrade was installing more double tracks to keep Amtrak from having to pull over and stop for freight traffic. My train has been on time or early EVERY TIME since the track improvements. It's a wonderful upgrade.
