Of a boy and girl, and their love story ..."

To revenge I would add Schadenfreude, though I confess I experience its appeal more often than I think healthy or advisable for me, too.

I've seen Mandy in solo concert twice. Special artist. My strongest memory of him is when he played Jeffrey Geiger on Chicago Hope. They said God had a 'Geiger complex.' But he had a verbal duel with ... as best I can recall, Ron Silver, that ended when he provoked Silver into an emotional reaction, which Geiger pronounced indication that he had 'won.' I don't remember it that clearly, but I remember its incredible power. Testament to Patinkin's artistry.

And I remember a YouTube video of him singing 'Carefully Taught.' Also riveting!

It is a joy to see this diary posted tonight, truly. By this diarist, whom we miss.

to this diary. Carefully Taught is an excellent extension to the diary.

As always, your kindness and decency and special touch adds dimension to the diary.

Hope you are well and that your health is back to normal. I'm not around here too often anymore, so don't keep up. Your forthright positiveness still shines brightly. I love it... as always.

And, as a side note, that "Carefully Taught" song from South Pacific was considered a communist agenda and threat to the "American way of life." So, yeah progress! The steps seem so small sometimes, yet we do actually bend that moral arc.

diarying MORE! I think the most diaries I ever did in a year before last year was 18. Last year I did about 56 and I'm on what I believe to be a comparable pace this year. It fulfills a need within me, anyway.

My health is quite exceptional, thank you! I am back to serious training, and my fitness is starting to come around, even if my ride partners are currently a good deal stronger than I am. At least I can DO the rides.

My hearing never recovered from the accident, and, it turned out the damage was permanent, and not something that could be corrected by surgery, so ... I use the bone-attached hearing device on the left side and a conventional hearing aid right. Far from ideal, but better than my unaided hearing.

Like you, I believe the arc of history bends toward justice. It can be hard to see, these days, with the strange manifestations conservatives bring, but they're swimming against the tide, to their peril.

Best to you again tonight, if you should chance back by this thread!
