    The warning that some people were trying to “privatise” religion and drive it out of public life was sounded by Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, the former Archbishop of Westminster and leader of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales.
    And here I thought that religion was private ... didn't some dude named Jesus say something about praying in private and not announcing how you how much you do for the church and paying Caesar what is Caesar's, and obeying laws, etc.

    We must be reading different Bibles.  But then, maybe he would prefer that we all be unlettered and uninformed followers and listen only to his interpretation of things.

    No freedom or education for the plebeians.
