Here's hoping the GOP will obstruct Obama and not give him the Fast Track Authority that would allow him to quickly shove down our throats the odious TPP.

    Wait.  Wait a sec.

Our only hope of stopping the horrific anti-worker pro-1% TPP is to hope that the GOP obstructs it?

    Let that sink in.

    Waking Up Yet?

So.... a Democratic President who pushes through pro-1% / anti-worker "Free" Trade Deals is complaining about Republicans wanting to hurt the poor. Do Go On.

    •  Waking up to what? That we have an FPtP system? (0+ / 0-)

What would you do under a dictatorship?

      "The dictatorship is corrupt"
      "No shit"
"We must form an opposition that has no connection with the dictatorship! Only then can we be pure and win over the people."
"But we're negotiating with them via strike action."
"Ahhh! You are corrupt too! (makes evil eye sign)"

Sure, a dictator would employ underhand techniques like surveillance, midnight abduction and torture (only for bad people, of course). More accurately, the security services would do this. Other parts of government would operate more normally. However, even with terror tactics of those kinds, the consent of the people is required, manufactured or otherwise.

I'd point out that secret service operatives (e.g. in Algeria) have historically encouraged purist opposition movements: they are fractious, exclusive and rarely have mass appeal as they are so exacting.

It's fine to form cultures of opposition, of new imagination. It's important and necessary. But that needs to be part of the bigger game to have any positive effect.

        any party and guess what?

That Party will reflect the interests of the Corporate 1% Predator Elite.

        It's not being "Purist".

        It's reality.

Refusal to admit such does not reflect the reality of the policies being implemented.

So.... a Democratic President who pushes through pro-1% / anti-worker "Free" Trade Deals is complaining about Republicans wanting to hurt the poor. Do Go On.
