      RICO was a really bad idea--you have to p[rove yourself INNOCENT  to get stuff back.

      The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.

        drug forfeiture statutes which are completely different.  In RICO, conviction is a necessary predicate to forfeiture, with the drug statutes, also known as civil forfeiture laws, the forfeiture is done by notice and a slim and difficult opportunity to challenge the forfeiture in court.  No charge or conviction of any crime is necessary to complete a civil forfeiture, which is a terribly wrong process.

        Patriotism may be the last refuge of scoundrels, but religion is assuredly the first.
