  •  Ain't that the truth?!? (8+ / 0-)
The fact is that Greenwald played this exactly right, and the Obama Administration apologists will never forgive him because of it.
The slow drip, drip, drip of information is a perfect strategy and I hope they keep it up!  They should have several years of material and scandals to go through.

Had they released the documents all at once, the drama would have been over and done with by now, or at least within a one month news cycle.

A few documents at a time, all with provable facts which keep the few researchers into the story going and going and going and finding more and more provable facts...?

    Priceless!!!

    •  ARG. It's NOT about that. It's freaking journalism (2+ / 0-)

Just releasing al the documents at once = NOT JOURNALISM.

Do people actually not get this? That data needs to be studied, checked, double- and triple-checked, that expers need to be contacted, also people being reported on... This stuff takes time. Sometimes really lots of time. That's journalism.

    •  I guess you sort of said what I said. (4+ / 0-)

      Or got around to it.

I'm sorry - this is so exasperating at times.

I just wasn't as definitive as you.  I am well aware that Snowden extracted a promise from those who now have some or all of the papers that they must not reveal anything that would put anyone's life in danger.  I know it takes time to study these documents, make sure no one can be harmed with the release of info before they're actually released, so I realize this will take a long time..., and it still amounts to a slow drip, drip, drip of info because it's being checked out first and responsibly released.

I thought most everyone remembered that part.

I know it's frustrating.  You need your zen place.

        ;-)

... at National Zoo (Mei Xiang had a healthy baby girl not yet old enough to be named) and Zoo Atlanta (two boys, and now that they're 100 days old, they have names - soon they'll be old enough to both be with Lun Lun, but since birth they've been rotating the cubs so they both get her milk).  Zoo Atlanta has a nice series of blog entries down the page from the live webcam so everyone is kept informed of the minutest of details.

My first encounter with a webcam was a few years ago when Mei Xiang gave birth to her first cub (last year's cub died at a week old because the lungs were not sufficiently developed).  From there I followed Bai Yun through a couple of her cubs at San Diego Zoo.  There was another one I monitored from Zoo Atlanta for a while, but I don't remember which one it was.  Sometimes there have been as many as three webcams to check out with new pandas from different zoos, so a couple of times a day I'd do a round-robin check of the panda cams at various zoos.

Uuurrrmmm... not so's anyone would notice, but I adore pandas, so I've always liked your sig line...!  :-)

I also check out various other babies from zoos or the ZooBorns web site where one could go into a cute-overload coma over the baby animals of various kinds.
