  •  as an aside, David H Koch was the primary funder (2+ / 0-)

    for the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History's Hall of Human Origins, which is a VERY good display on human evolution.

    The Koch brothers are libertarian loonies, but they are NOT the fundamentalist religious kooks that too many of us who tend to lump all goppers together think they are.  The entire Smithsonian exhibit is one big fat "fuck you" to creationists.

      with the dinosaurs at AMNH. It makes me laugh because it makes it perfectly clear how they are using the creationists for their own purposes. The religious right would be horrified by any of those exhibits, but since their rank and file would never enter those museums, and their leadership all know where their checks come from, it's never going to be a problem. I note that the Kochs fund a lot of science programs on PBS as well.
