My grandparents had two white rabbits with pink eyes and they gave them to my brother and I when we were in early grade school.  The first animal I ever saw giving birth was the doe.  Itty bitty baby bunnies are about as hairless as panda babies, soon grow fur, eyes closed at birth, and to keep them warm Momma Bunny pulls fur from her belly (dual purpose; it exposes the nipples where the babies will suckle) and lines the nest she makes from grass and her fur.  When it's time to nurse the babies, she removes the fur and grass she covers them with, stands over them and they nurse, and when they're finished she covers them again.

I was enthralled with the whole process after I got over my first wave of nausea watching Mama Bunny eat the afterbirth.

Eventually they got out of the cage and we let them run wild..., where I suspect they interbred with the wild rabbits that inhabited the woods on the farm.

I'm not sure if Gram and Gramps gave them to us for food or pets..., but they were cute so we could never have eaten them.

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor
