Who exactly are these "stay behinds," and how did they stay behind without Obama allowing them to do so?

I'm not sure whether Obama is in control of his administration, making these "stay behinds" his choice, or if his administration has been infiltrated by people trying to destroy it from within, without his knowledge and consent.

So it comes down to this:

The President either competently made bad choices, or incompetently allowed these people to turn out to be bad choices.

Neither of those two possibilities is very comforting.

It seems to me you're trying to offload responsibility for the actions of agencies under his purview onto others, when the unavoidable reality is that as head of the Executive Branch of government, the buck invariably stops with him.

And I must say, I'm surprised you don't write about NSA overreach more often, since you think it's an "important issue."  You're very popular here. I'm sure having your voice contributing to the discussion more often would be very beneficial.

Somebody has to do something, and it's just incredibly pathetic that it has to be us. ~ J. Garcia

They got snuck into positions that are officially non-political so that the Admin. wouldn't be able to terminate them. You make it sound like it's easy to root them out and let them go.

      I ♥ President Barack Obama.
