  •  I enjoyed the diary, yet.... (0+ / 0-)

I have a concern that the unspoken point of the diary (and the poll attached) is that we should just accept changes to our environment or society based on popular belief. I'm not sure that's what you meant, but that's the gist of what I hear in the tone and tangibles of the diary. There are clearly ideas and practices that are unacceptable regardless of their acceptance within society (i.e. slavery) and those which have their root in something wrong (Recent Voter ID law in NC), all of which should not be "Accepted" but fought against. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks!

    •  Oh, gracious, no! (0+ / 0-)

Please don't grab the survey options and mentally interpolate them into the text. Happily, our liberal friends are mostly clicking on "adapt and change" in the survey. (There are a few outliers on the other choices - probably just for giggles.)

I am a rowdy progressive and believe that we come to our tolerance, even enthusiasm, for psycho-social change as maturing individuals. It is those who hesitate to explore outside of their safe preserves of the familiar and popular that may prevent us from making necessary adaptions for our common good.

I'm setting out to post drafts of book segments. I'm hoping to receive valuable feedback, such as yours, to help tighten and expand my thoughts toward a final draft. If you follow, you will begin to see the theme and structure develop. Thank you and best wishes, DavidS

      •  I suspected as much. (0+ / 0-)

I am looking for diaries and diarists focusing beliefs and their impact on society. I don't only mean religious beliefs, but how the nature of belief of any kind impacts our thoughts and actions. I enjoyed what you had to say on that score. Subscribed.
