    Is the issue.

Insurers have always sent plan cancellation notices, no one ever raised hell about it before. Likely because no one has ever really understood insurance company notices, they send so many & never in plain language.

But this current situation needs attention, because Joe Bob is exactly right (and I haven't seen a single person address this yet) - private Insurance companies are cancelling plans they have been regulated (by the ACA) to abolish & offering new plans which are ACA compliant BUT if purchased directly from the Insurer WILL NOT be eligible for the Federal subsidy! One must purchase through the Exchange to get the Benefit of the subsidy.

The crazy thing is the Insurers are not telling their customers this, but the Insurer doesn't get any more if customer buys direct or via Exchange in any case - only consumer would pay less, with subsidy help. I tthink the Insurers are doing it because they fear they'll lose customer to a plan from a competitor on the Exchange!
