I was just trying to find the closest location (to Concord CA) where I can get Guinness on tap.  How would you go about researching that?

Backstory: my longtime, Mexican boyfriend (now husband) had a Killian the other night for the first time.  Now, he's big on stout and I told him we should find draft Guinness.  I checked some local restaurants/pubs without luck.

If he likes Killian in the bottle, he's going to flip out over a creamy Guinness!

Not exactly what you are looking for, but I think you guys would have a great time with this idea.

There are 3 breweries in Concord, all of which probably make great beer. Take a day and go visit all of them, you'll have a great time. Try their dark beers, hell try all of their beers, I'm sure you both will find lots of styles you like and maybe didn't even realize you liked.

      Black Diamond Brewing Company

      E. J. Phair Brewing Company

      Ale Industries

There is also a BJ's Restaurant
(Big chain, good pizza, personally I don't think they make great beer, but worth checking out)

So go support local. You'll have a great time and be supporting people who have a passion for what they do in your own community.

If that doesn't work, I'd bet good money Farrington's Sports Bar has both Guinness and Murphy's on tap.

and good advice.  We were recently at E.J. Phair but this was before Marco had discovered stout!  Their other brews were excellent; there was just too big a selection to try them all.

You're right; a good stout is a good stout and having it de barril is key.

I used to live right around the corner from an English brewpub in San Leandro.  When describing it to a friend, he commented how convenient it was that it was within walking distance.  I countered by saying it was with crawling distance.
