"rude & crude,"  as Pravin notes in his profile.  He's obviously getting something sorta' depraved out of this.  In fact the attitude expressed  is exactly the issue being discussed here.

As the trauma psychiatrist Judith Lewis Herman noted:

... in practice the standard for what constitutes rape is set not at the level of women's experience of violation but just above the level of coercion acceptable to men.

While I'm male, was repeatedly raped  by my grandfather from at least age 5 until I was big enough to throw him out of the house.  That has made me somewhat of an expert on the games rapists &/or pedophiles and theirs apologists play.

His comments actually seem quite deliberate, which creeps me the hell out.

But possibly with more of an objective than idle entertainment.

We don't know what prior relations are involved in the above story. If one is blacked out, it will be difficult to recall the signals given to others during the blackout. Others similarly impaired might not even realize they are talking to someone who will later fail to remember the conversation. However much we wish the 'stalker' had exercised better judgment, she would be difficult to prosecute without a witness to confirm a one-sided lack of consent.

But, even if pravin knows circles of 'friends' where such behavior is tolerated and possibly even expected, that is no excuse to generalize the light treatment of liberties taken with impaired partners. And it is certainly no excuse to accept his or her admitted double-standard.

The comment seems just a troll entertaining his or her self. It appears to advocate letting those in control doing as they please.

        •  I am not condoning what the lady did (0+ / 0-)

If they catch her , punish her. But at the same, I am not going to feel sorry for the guy for having his member blown when was blacked out even if I feel she should be prosecuted for it. Because I feel he has bigger problems in his life that that with the blackouts and all. It is all relative. So if I were the DA, she would be tried for her crime, but the non legal side of me would not feel one bit sorry for the guy for enduring this crime.

But if you insist on viewing things as black and white, then yes, we will never have a proper discussion. There are many liberals who do not share the same views. Just accept it.

I actually think punishments of rapists is too light in our country. And yes, I would not mind having a rapist lashed in a public square for his crime, even if it is medieval.

That's the best way to discuss issues honestly. Take it for what it's worth. I actually think expanding the definition of rape dilutes the outrage we need to feel for real serious victims of rape.

What I shared about my experiences is the truth. I don't need to make up things. If you are going to dictate that my sharing of such stories is somehow analogous to grooming by pedos, you guys are batshit crazy.

Some of us are more resilient when we are subjected to minor cases of assault. For you to say I am equating some cases to you getting raped by a grandfather is beyond ridiculous. That ismy point. You were raped. Not me who was merely touched or had my hand shoved on her body even if I did not care for it.
