    I think most of us have watched the TV program "Hoarders."  

    I see the very rich as an extreme example of a hoarder.  They never get enough money, they always want more and will figure out a way to get more & more.  It is a psychological sickness.

      most of the hoarders are not just mentally ill but their illness destroys their finances as well, it is like addiction. The hoarders almost always keep worthless stuff, stuff no one wants. The only people they hurt are themselves and their families (and sometimes their neighbors, if it spills beyond their walls). They deserve pity.

      As for the wealthy, they are more like skimmers--they divert a substantial portion of the flow of capital in the economy without providing any service in return. They are more like thieves or con artists than hoarders--they are fully in control of themselves, they take what is most valuable.
