  •  One of the things I most like about cats (12+ / 0-)

    is that they are more commensals than domesticated livestock. We chose to live together for mutual benefit, and there's still a bit of that mutual self interest involved. There's still a good amount of the wild in most cats, which is why from my perspective overbred types like Persians and hairless cats are less appealing than the generic cats that have accompanied people everywhere and have colonized the world together.
