The pro/con break is right where you would expect it.  A year or two ahead of me - still only the truly hip were smoking. By my time, even some young repubs would take a toke if offered

The Pill, marijuana and integration all hitting the mainstream within a maybe 5 year period. So many of us boomers feel more comfortable among strangers' kids 40 years younger than family 5 years older.

And the far side of the culturequake is the age portion of the RW base.

      •  Yes, that is definitiley the truth (0+ / 0-)

The "silent generation" is waaay different, in general. A few broke out from the mold, but not many. They didn't need to, since the mold was very very comfortable for them. No wars, not much competition because there weren't many of them, taxes were higher on the wealthy, helping out the middle class - life was good in the mold.

Boomers, on the other hand, had a war and a huge amount of competition, along with taxes being raised on them in the 80's compared to the older generations, who they were supporting along with putting back what was needed for the Boomers when they got older, creating the Social Security surplus that the wealthy borrowed so much from for their tax cuts.
