"Can you cite just one example of exactly how that can happen. How not discriminating against someone costs businesses money?"  Or. "Are you saying that the only rights you're concerned with here would not be the rights of gay and lesbian employees, but the right of their employers to discriminate against them?" God I detest these Repubs.

The Republican motto: "There's been a lot of progress in this country over the last 75 years, and we've been against all of it."

The answer Boehner would have given to such a question is that it would leave small business owners open to lawsuits if they chose not to hire a gay applicant or fired an incompetent gay employee.  You have to understand, in Teabagistan, the world is full of gay grifters (and the sleazy trial lawyers who represent them) who are stalking God fearing business people, trying to trip them up so they violate one of these commie laws, take them to court and cost them the business they worked their fingers to the bone building all these years!  Seriously.  The Republican base believes this.  They believe it about anyone who isn't a white, Christian male.

Don't forget, these people STILL don't understand why Woolworth's shouldn't have been allowed to refuse service to blacks in the luncheonettes in their Southern stores.  It was a private business responding to the desires of the majority of their clientele, so what was the problem?
