    $12 a month.  He told me so after I asked about the cuts.

    Maybe I am empathy deficient, but 12 bucks for two people doesn't sound like catastrophe to me.

    The Lie in any of these "temporary" benefits is that they will be temporary.  We've seen it with the Bush Tax cuts...now we are seeing it with food stamps.

    Once you offer any demographic a temporary benefit, after two years it becomes an expectation that will never cease.

    Through early morning fog I see visions of the things to be the pains that are withheld for me I realize and I can see...

      "temporary" benefit permanently.  

      Children?  It takes them quite a while to grow to adulthood.  The disabled?

      In the time it took Adam Lanza to reload, eleven children escaped. What if...

      between going hungry for a few days and not.  Oh, and for many people it is more like a $35 to $60 cut (or "not cut" if you prefer).  But then again, going on a week long fast once a month is no big deal, right?
