    I don't see how you can automatically draw that conclusion.  

    I think the mature answer is that we need to get past the access issue and make it universal.  Then we can tackle the more pressing issue of controlling provider prices.

      It makes sense to me that, say, a single, healthy, 27 year old guy might be, currently, paying a pretty low rate -- and then would have to pay more under single payer.

      But, as noted above, that's a feature, not a bug.  When that 27 year old reaches the age of 67, he'll be paying less than his cost, and the new 27 year olds will be paying more.

      That's just leveling the field, so that everyone can afford it, and pay, and benefit from it equally during their lifetimes.
