get the voter list for the precinct from the County Elections Office, set up the equipment, post the required notices (how many voters each 2 hours), post the distance markers (no politicking inside the markers), sign in and verify the voters, explain the equipment and any other questions that come up, and now, we get to decide if the voters' ID "substantially matches" the name on the card/ voter roll.  Oh, and we break it all down, check the ballot totals, sign off on the total tape(s), return the ballots to HQ, and sweep up, too! I am the Dem. Alternate Election Judge to the Republican in my precinct.

The election judge can hire additional clerks to work the election, to meet the anticipated need, and swear them in, etc., too.  For the PRINCELY sum of $8.00 per hour, for a 12-14 hour day.  When you take a day off from your regular job. I didn't have a day to take, and our regular GOP election judge in my precinct couldn't do today's election, either, so the County asked and found some other election judges and they came from nearby precincts.  Basically, folks who could take a day off, or didn't have work restrictions, or don't work do it.  Lots of retirees (whose ranks I one day hope to join).

Hi, Glen.  Dallas Co. pct. (now) 3043 reporting in! Last precinct on Hillcrest Rd. Before Collin County.
