    but I really think that the writer is entitled to some control over his own work.

    I live out in the middle of the desert, with the closest bookstore being 75 miles away, a Barnes & Noble. And while my local library is close, it's selection is limited. So even though I don't yet live in an area that is completely barren, ebooks have radically changed the way I read and have given me access to material I would not have been able to obtain any other way.

    And if it has done that for me, I can only imagine what the technology could mean for a society that does not have the advantages of a B&N 75 miles away, and a car to get to it.
