  •  Was McAuliffe really THAT bad? (7+ / 0-)

Granted, he wasn't my first choice, but I think he's more liberal than he's given credit for by bloggers.  Anti-gun, pro-marriage equality, pro-transportation deal (which means being for a tax increase to pay for it), more spending on community colleges, a wind farm off Hampton Roads--you could get a lot more conservative than this.

As far as the quality of his campaign goes, I have to point out that he has to have done something right (seeing as he did actually win the election).  I have to disagree that he ran a Northern Virginia-centered election; he actually traveled all over the state, and tried very hard (but ultimately without much success) to peel off votes in Southwestern Virginia.  I do think he focused too heavily on negative ads.

    •  No doubt he's a liberal (0+ / 0-)

He's also a DC insider whose only real asset is that he raises lots of money. The world of political consultants and fundraisers doesn't exactly excite Joe Q voter

There is truth on all sides. The question is how much.

      •  Oh, I agree with you there, (0+ / 0-)

I was just responding to people who argue that he is not very liberal.
