All of these politicians ragging against the ACA must have been promised tons of money from insurance companies, seventy-one virgins from Oral Roberts or they are being blackmailed with NSA intercepts.  How else would they say and do so many stupid, childish and idiotic things?

What part about the ACA being written by the health insurance industry don't you get?

I am constantly amazed that so many who need actual affordable healthcare seem to think that paying a private for profit corporation health insurance premiums is the same thing.

This is all about corporations and their CEO's and stockholders(read Wall St.) getting richer.

Yes, some will benefit initially, those with pre-exisiting conditions for example. Check back in 2-3 years. Many are having their plan cancelled. I hear of stories every week here in Hawaii in which workers are getting hours cut because of hour requirements related to the ACA. They are structuring workers' hours so that the burden of health insurance premiums falls 100% onto the worker who now works less hours. This is not uncommon here at all.

Single Payer is the fight. Why settle for a warmed over microwaved Republican plan?

payer. It was a long trail. If you look at my health care diaries in 2006 and look at them today, you'd be shocked they are written by the same person. I came to an epiphany?

That said, I know the devil of private health insurers, and you are totally correct in saying they aren't the solution. I hate the word compromise when it results in suffering. I reluctantly came to believe the ACA was the best we could get at the time. The ACA is inadequate in terms of relieving suffering, but it's all we got. The best thing to do is make what we got work.

That is really just throwing in the towel, isn't it?

anyway, here is an (again, IMO) pretty good read on the entire ACA state of affairs.

probably enough in this link to tick anyone off, but if we don't seek the truth, we are destined to repeat the same mistakes over and over and….

Only in America is the idea that health care is a universal right still considered a radical position.  Elsewhere, it is no longer even associated with the left.  It is just simple common sense.

        •  Nope, not throwing in the towel. The ACA is the (0+ / 0-)

first step of what will be many. You have to start somewhere and although I would have like a few changes to the ACA, as a health care administrator, I have to implement what we have. The next step needs to be meaningful cost control and that will be a tougher fight than what we have now.

        Obama's Deal

Good for a refresher on how the American public was sold out.

I notice that on sites such as FDL, Commondreams, etc. the regulars have finally discovered who they elected. This may be one of the last sites that has happened yet.
