    the next worst thing feels like, and unlike the Great Depression, they appear NOT to be destined to experience what the subsequent New Deal felt like.

    Instead, the agony of the long-term unemployed and chronically underemployed among the 90% of the country will be burned into people's psyches for their lifetimes, since the austerian neoliberals in BOTH major parties show no sign of shaking their ant-Keynesian delusions, and/or corporatist big-money-politics orientation anytime soon.
