  •  For me, it's much, much more about shoving the (12+ / 0-)

window back to the left. Why are we asked to begin the discussion on SS as if we've already lost ground and we must beg, beg, beg, pretty please, for the tiny crumbs we have left?

Excuse my french here, but Fuck That Shit.

Let's START negotiations the way you are SUPPOSED to: by demanding WAAAAY more than you know you will get. And since we are dealing with certifiably crazy people on the other side, we need to start with SUPER-DUPER WAAAY MOAR INSANE demands.

Otherwise, we will keep being shoved and shoved and shoved to the right and further and further into their nightmare Libertarian vision of hell.

    Fuck That Shit.

I WANT A SOCIAL SECURITY UNICORN FOR EVERYBODY and the Koch Brothers and Mitt Romney are going to wrench open their tax-dodging, Cayman Island piggy banks to pay for it.

But I'm willing to be reasonable, when they are.

    •  Negotiations 101 (7+ / 0-)

ACA...start with full coverage single payer and elimination of all health related gambling AND price control on all medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.

Social Security...start with lowering the age to 62 and upping the payouts to equal a "living wage"+100%, eliminate the contribution cap.

Jeez...don't start with the Republican Health Plan and let them make it even worse!

Don't let any comments on Social Security cuts to go unchallenged!

Don't start a bargain from a weak position or where "you'd like to be" on the position.

I may be a bona fide idiot, but if you were to add $20,000 and full medical benefits to that "expected pay" on your resume, you may actually get it.
