    It's up to the Democrats and how they handle the situation.

    If they back down and "be reasonable" like 2011 they will lose out. They have a history of screwing themselves so it wouldn't be a surprise.

    But, if they play hardball, and demand more than they ever thought possible they'll come out ok. It's up to them.

    The Republicans have no where to go and nothing to offer. Offering to get rid of the sequester is worthless.

    The Democrats can simply dismantle the sequester piece by piece - as the Republicans have been doing.

    Whether or not the Democrats have the brains and the spine to do it is another thing altogether.

      of the GOP. Without approval in the House the sequester stays in place. The GOP doesn't like the defense cuts, or the increase in taxes on the 1%, but they can live with it in return for the cuts in social programs and the declining deficit.

      The GOP will not agree to any revenue increases unless it's part of lowering the corporate tax rate, and some cuts to entitlements.
