that Pete has issues.  In fact, his issues have issues.  I suspect the only thing that keeps him from a complete freak-out is his white-knuckle grip on his religion.

    •  I would almost feel pity for him (7+ / 0-)

if he were just another sad case of a gay person wallowing in his self-loathing existence. I do feel pity for these people. But, if he is indeed in the closet and has worked so fiercely against the rest of us, then he deserves all the ire we can throw at him.

Then again, he may be just a straight person who is a complete asshole.

would sit through watching that much gay porn.  The monotony would drive anybody crazy if they ween't drawn to it for reasons of sexual desire.  Of course Pete is gay, and, yes, he deserves as much shit from the LGBT community as we can throw his way.

      •  If he's "straight" (4+ / 0-)

it's only because he's not looking logically at the topic and his response to it.  There's a reason he's maintaining a vigilance toward the gay world, bars, pornography, etc.  And not simply to report to his following (whose interests deserve investigation on their own).  A true religious nut would have spent a brief moment viewing porn and kept that indelible image in his mind.  Pete keeps going back for more.  Hmmm.

It may just be me, but I continually hear of cops, investigators and prosecutors in the "Sex Crimes Unit" being arrested for, well, sex crimes, at least at a higher rate than other law-enforcement personnel.  My theory is that they didn't get into this department by accident.

but I have to rebut the bottom paragraph.

Please don't get me wrong, I think that Porno Pete is disgusting and probably a closet-case, but I can't place other Christians in his shoes. His name is out there for a reason.

I haven't seen stats if sex crime units have a higher percentage of people there who get off on sex crimes and so join a sex crimes unit. It's a pretty disturbing thought.

here in Contra Costa County.  Two sex-crimes prosecutors went out for lunch and returned with one charging the other with rape.  In the end, they both admitted to a nooner of kinky sex.

Other officers and investigators have been implicated in criminal (or inappropriate) sexual conduct.  If you want links, I'll try to chase them down.

What caught my eye was that they never seemed to be arrested for any other type of crime.  Funny, but it doesn't seem to be happenstance.

The kind of people who would cause so much harm to the GLBT community deserve to be publicly humiliated.
