I've been scouring the internet for first-hand accounts, and yours is among the most informative and moving that I've read.

Amazing that so many people were able to crowd into just two houses and survive, thanks to your family! Well done, Sir!

A good friend lives about 200 miles north of that, in Camarines Norte, in a barangay (village) with 6,000 people. I'm sure they're fine, as that's well north of Yolanda's destruction and had winds only 20-36mph, but I haven't had any news.

So to hear that your family and villagers survived in Bogo, directly in the path of Yolanda, is heartwarming. Thank you!

family, friend, or neighbor was going to ask for shelter and be turned away. I can only imagine what sacrifices were made.

There can be no protection locally if we're content to ignore the fact that there are no controls globally.
