is normal in the sense that there usually is a period of adjustment.  Um.... Pootie #1 in the house STILL hisses at his pack... even his best bud Mushu.  He's just a... um... cranky old cat.  ;-)

don't seem to understand that. I may go back down there and talk to them again. They do not strike me as the type that would just let him go even though I am sure they have to get back home to Colorado.

I haven't set things up yet myself, but a good friend of mine has already put me in her will as taking care of her cat if something happens to her.  Of course she did ask me first!!  And her cat has been here when she's gone on trips.  She was harassed and bothered (well, she's a cranky YOUNG cat) but there weren't any fights.... and she did get along with the females in the pack. (the younger boys as usual were the trouble makers!!!)

since both of her cats are deceased now. She wouldn't do it. So I went back to the estate sale and pretended to be interested in items (nothing good there!) while pulling bits and pieces from the lady. Mickey the cat was rescued by her mother when her father died. She said her mother made her promise on her death bed that she would take care of Mickey. The granddaughter was not around today. I told the woman that I didn't know her and she didn't know me but I had come back to make sure they were not going to just let the cat go or anything. She said they will not just let anyone have him that he has to go to a quiet home without any other pets. In the meantime, she will keep him. I told her that she made me happy, shook hands and wished her the best. The husband and brother were outside in the garage selling tools and said Mickey would be well taken care of until the right person adopts him. I'm glad I went back or I would always wondered what happened to him.
