    I don't think that Gravity is a human versus nature story. I think that the story is much more about humanity in its complex relationship with technology. After all (SPOILERS ALERT!) the instigating action is that a satellite was destroyed by a missile, and the debris was then orbiting the Earth at high speed. Think about all the scenes of Sandra Bullock struggling to figure out the different controls on different platforms.

    And think of the ending: where does she find her rebirth? In a lake. In water. In a way, this was a movie about a human returning to nature rather than vanquishing it.
