chest, I do like your writing, and have been tempted to reply to a couple of your diaries. The problem, before this, has been that doing it properly would have taken more time and attention than I had at the time the diaries first came up.

Your "flinch" is one of the mechanisms I have been using, and honing, and expanding on for several years now. Unfortunately, most of the development has been internal, and the terminology I've developed for thinking about it would have to be translated to standard English before I could be coherent about what I've been doing. And I'm not altogether certain it can be translated, because it contains concepts I haven't seen in any of the literature I've looked at, and they would have to be defined, or at least summarized, before it would make any sense. In other words, it would be at least the prologue to a book I haven't gotten around to writing yet.

I can't ask that you stick to "smaller" concepts - I do prefer grand and glorious sweeps - but the DKos format, and the mode of thinking that I tend to be in when I'm reading posts here, aren't anywhere near as compatible as I'd like when it comes to properly appreciating and replying to your writing.

At least half the future I've been expecting hasn't gotten here yet. Sigh.... (Yes, there's gender bias in my name; no, I wasn't thinking about it when I signed up. My apologies.)
