  •  OR state lege fundraising (0+ / 0-)

Dem House PAC and Republican Senate PAC are leading so far, but Dem leaders in both chambers have raised more, and significantly, Democratic State Senator Betsy Johnson (SD-16 on the north coast) has raised more than anyone else. She was controversial in the last session for casting the vote that killed automatic voter registration and prevented any gun control legislation from passing. There was a lot of talk of a primary, including I think from Howard Dean or DFA, and a lot of this money is coming from business, so it would seem to be aimed at protecting her from that. However, she's in a roughly D+3 district, the second most vulnerable seat we'll have next year, and there is not yet a hint of an actual primary challenge, so it may end up fortifying her through the general as well.

    •  Who has control of each chamber (0+ / 0-)

      and by now much, currently?

      •  House is 34-26 Democratic (3+ / 0-)

and while we have some seats that may be tough to hold that we won last year, there are two Republican incumbents leaving seats that Obama won open. The senate is 16-14 Democratic. Half of the districts are up, including a couple potentially vulnerable Democratic districts like Johnson's D+3 seat, the Medford-Ashland seat that is only about D+2, but Republicans also have to defend an open D+7 district in Corvallis & Albany, a D+6 district in Hillsboro, and a few other potentially swingy districts.
