    Rollingstone? I am also a long time subscriber to National Geographic. I put one in my tote if I know I will have to wait somewhere in public. It's an antidote to modern day culture.

      is deep and progressive, usually. Some very sharp stuff - and opening the eyes of many who wouldn't read politics otherwise.

      If you're looking for in-depth history or analysis of Rock Music, and broad coverage of the best music of the last 60 years, the two supreme magazines are Uncut and Mojo (with their excellent monthly compilation CDs). I'm pretty obsessive on Rock, so I've checked dozens of magazines. I subscribe to these two.
