is liberal claptrap?  Then how do they explain the mass defect in masses of atoms?  Or is that another liberal conspiracy, plotted by Lavoisier and Priestly and Dalton and Mendele'ev well over a century ago in order to overthrow our alll-American values far in the future?

Are they aware that this is the source of energy in nuclear reactors and atom bombs?  Maybe they don't believe in those either?

    Theese people are pathetic.

E=mc2 is supposed to somehow "prove" that there's no objectivity in the universe, so do whatever the hell you want because even God has no special claim to being right ... that is, if he exists, which the Big Bang theory and evolution are supposed to prove he didn't.

would simply change their metaphors to conform to recent scientific discoveries--and they have.  There's nothing inherently atheistic about the Big Bang, after all, or special relativity, or even evolution for that matter.  On the other hand, you have to make the effort to understand these ideas first.  Clearly the idiots running Conservapedia have not done that.

Very long story short, fundies have to disbelieve in the Big Bang and evolution, because if Genesis is not literally true, then there was no Fall, therefore no original sin (which calls God's power and goodness into question if our capacity for evil was always there and isn't a problem), so there is nothing for Jesus to vicariously atone for, so why did he bother?

the Fundamentalist mindset to change their metaphors because they are incapable of recognizing metaphors.  Everything is literal to them.  I have, for a long time, wanted to ask an honest Fundamentalist (if such a creature exists) how they can reconcile the contradictions between the account of creation in Genesis 1 with the account of creation in Genesis 2.

But Andrew Schlafly, who runs Conservapedia, is Catholic, and the Catholic Church is not Fundamentalist.  They have no problem incorporating the theory of evolution and the Big Bang into their view of the universe.  On the other hand, it would not surprise me if Schlafly would stoop to this sort of anti-scientific crap in order to appeal to the Fundamentalists.  Presumably, he knows his audience.

and I'm not going to limit that to the people of the book.

If you were to take a snapshot of science somewhere in the middle bronze age and consider everything that has been written about it since heresy, that might get you close to creationism and science as being of equal value.
