  •  I'm in the process of having solar panels put on (7+ / 0-)

my house as I type.  However, I very much agree that I'd rather cook with gas than my electric stove.  However, when we replaced the stove, I was faced with the reality that running a gas line to my kitchen was going to be a thousand dollars (and perhaps more to do things right), plus the stove I wanted was more expensive than the electric stove we got.  So I gave up on cooking with gas.  We instead have replaced the wood fireplace with a gas insert and now use that for most of the house heating.

Just wanted to give a thumbs-up to cooking with gas.

(I really want a gas range) would cost 90,000 bucks- not counting the interior connections.
Obviously I'm stuck with electric. I'm thinking about induction burners but don't know anyone who has them.
      Opinions welcome.
