and maybe all the way to Medicare rates for some period of time. And that will help, but there is no short term increase of primary care physicians, physician assistants or nurse practitioners, so who will care for these new Medicaid patients? It is even hard to find physicians who will take new Medicare patients. My primary care physician will continue to care for long term patients who turn 65 but hasn't taken a new Medicare patient in ten years and many others are following suit.

capacity in my area, a suburban one, so probably not a heavily Medicaid population.  Large health groups have build stand alone satellite facilities, several new urgent care centers have opened, and there has been an increase in retail based clinics.  It may be that once there in more money available to be spent for care, providers will find a way to deliver it, at least in places with enough critical mass.

is geared to the expensively-paying client.  Expansion will be there, and quickly.  It only takes a few years to gear up massive numbers of physicians (plus remember we can import foreign-trained MD's) and far less for non-physician healthcare workers.

"Privatize to Profitize" explains every single Republican economic, social and governing philosophy. Take every taxpayer dollar from defense, education, health care, public lands, retirement - privatize it, and profit from it.
