  •  I had really hoped there would be... (4+ / 0-)

    a snark tag.

I've barely a modicum of respect for Logan as a journalist, but the insinuation of this...

The latest example is television producer Lara Logan, whose upbringing in apartheid South Africa may have nurtured her obsession with embarrassing if not bringing down the presidency of America's first black head of state.
...and, more directly, this from a comment above...
Lara Logan belongs to the bunch who enjoyed its racial privileges and having lost them to the end of apartheid, apparently wish to recreate that lifestyle in the U.S.
    ...ought to require some evidence.

I'm not sure I understand you.  Are you asking for evidence that apartheid existed in South Africa, or that it privileged whites, or that it generated an ideology of white supremacy to rationalize its oppression of the African majority?   There were many exceptional whites who fought against the system.  I did not see Lara Logan's name on any of those lists, did you?

    •  It's a case of always assuming the worst (0+ / 0-)

about a person, based on their country of origin and race.  This is becoming a frequent feature of DK.  Yesterday we had this.

      It's the Supreme Court, stupid!
