She is right where she can do the most good on the issues that have been the core of her career.
If she became President, she would have to deal with a much wider range of issues, not of her choosing, hemmed in by a reactionary opposition that unites the MCPs with Wall Street.
    Notice this line?

growing economic pressures on middle class families — families that worked hard and played by the rules but still can’t get ahead.
Notice that Obama has used that exact same line for the past year? He got it from her.
Like Occupy influenced the language and conversation in the WhiteHouse, Warren brings that language to maturity within the top ranks of the Admin.
And you can bet that she's already influenced Hillary and would be in position to exert more of that influence if/when Hillary becomes President.

If I ran this circus, things would be DIFFERENT!

    •  Yes, a strong progressive left (9+ / 0-)

can influence Hillary to some degree, especially if it is well represented in Congress.

married a half-assed Democrat. She's hand over fist in with Wall Street and a whole lot of others who aren't on our side.

as a young girl, not as an adult! As Wellesley valedictorian, she gave a strong speech against Vietnam. As a young lawyer, she worked to get the Watergate scum.  She has both a progressive side and a centrist side. Triangulation was Bill Clinton's strategy in a conservative context. If we give her a progressive Congress, it will bring out HRC's progressive side. She likes to WIN.

We don't even know what Ms. Warren's views on foreign policy are. Where does she stand on Israel/Palestine?  On Climate change? Her willingness to regulate industry probably means good news for the environment.

But, again, I want her RIGHT where she is. She's on the Senate Banking Committee. It's the perfect fit.
